Chicago-based musician, composer, and cultural investigator LeRoy Bach presents a series of music-based responses to art on view at the Smart. Each performance takes place in GalleryX and is adapted to the moment and surroundings and results from a shared experience between Bach and gallery visitors.

Bach was a 2012/13 Arts + Public Life artist-in-residence at the University of Chicago and has had residencies at the Headlands Center for the Arts, The Djerassi Artist Program, and Arizona State University. Bach is also known for his musical work with the rock band Wilco, as well as with artist Theaster Gates and the Black Monks of Mississippi.
